Fashion Future Graduate Showcase 2018 at the New York Fashion Week
The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) continues to be the leading supporter and promoter of emerging American designers and has produced yet another successful fashion week lineup. For the second consecutive year the CFDA has partnered with the the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) to present the Fashion Future Graduate Showcase (FFGS), a two-day event during NYFWM that features the top fashion graduates from eight prestigious fashion schools in the U.S.
From Sketch to Runway, Brooklyn Public Library Launches BKLYN Fashion Academy
The BKLYN Fashion Academy will provide emerging designers with the essentials to create up to four women’s wear garments. During the 12–week program, participants will take classes in fashion illustration, sustainable design and sourcing and market research. Lab time and special sessions will take place at MoodU, Brooklyn Fashion & Design Accelerator, and the Brooklyn Public Library’s Central and Sunset Park branches. Made in NY: Fashion Fall 2016 Campaign
Made in NY: Fashion kicks off New York Fashion Week with the launch of the 2016 campaign . This year’s campaign tells the unique stories of five Made in NY designers and explores the benefits of manufacturing locally in their words. Through documentary-style video, print, social media, web content, and more, the campaign aims to influence more New York City designers to join the Made in NY: Fashion community.
The 2016 CFDA Fashion Awards will recognize the outstanding contributions made to American fashion by individuals from all areas of the industry and related arts, with awards being given for design excellence in womenswear, menswear, and accessories as well as extraordinary accomplishments in journalism, creative vision, and lifetime achievement.
